About Me

My name is Gabriela Garcia and I am a nineties kid with an admiration for eighties music. I love to write, travel, go to the movies and spend time with my friends and family-- I have over forty cousins (and a sweet pup named Flower), so I'm a busy bee!
The Multi-skilled Journalist

Ever since I was a young girl, I was always enthralled with the news industry. As I got older, I grew to deeply appreciate journalism even more after realizing how imperative a free press is to our democracy.
In these times, social media platforms are vital resources to spread information and ideas from various perspectives, and I have embraced them in my work and personal life in Columbus as a Traffic Anchor and Multi-skilled Journalist at WBNS.
The Anchor
During my time at KYTX, I quickly acclimated to being an anchor for their 6:30 p.m. show, 19now.
At KAGS, I anchored the 6 and 10 p.m. shows, along with providing content for them as an MSJ.
My daily workflow also allowed me to flex both my hard and soft news "muscles" with both types prominently featured on our shows there. Now, I'm happy to use those skills when I fill in anchor at WBNS.

The "Morning Person"
Ever since I was younger, I was always told I was a "morning person." I just like to think I have a positive attitude and am ready for whatever the day brings!
Regardless of how I saw it, my personality landed me on "The Morning Loop," at KYTX CBS19, then later, a promotion to Traffic Anchor at WBNS. I love being on the Wake Up CBUS team to get Central Ohioans the information they need to safely go about their day.

The Movie Critic
When I'm not searching for the latest breaking story or trending topic, I am at the movies! For as long as I can remember, I have adored cinema and all that goes into making the latest blockbuster or indie flick.
I eventually realized that my knowledge and passion for films provided me with a unique perspective on them and I've used it in my reporting.
